Everyone has a story to tell or fond memories they would like to share. In this web site, I am going to present some photographs, maps and documents that hold tangible reminders of moments in Lake County Illinois history. This is a work in progress in that I hope to continue to add more information as time permits.

The information I am going to present for Fox Lake 1945 will come from a local monthly newspaper printed by Victor Witting called the Lake Region News. Local news that was relevant to the people living in Fox Lake at that time will be presented. For the 1960s Chain O Lakes/Fox Lake topics , most of the information will come from vacation maps of the time.

The topics covered for Great America will be of my experiences working there back in the 80s. Strong emphasis will be on Captain Morgan's Seafood Restaurant where I worked and on Yankee Harbor which is the territory it was located at.

The history of Lake County will come from several books and other research information that I have. I hope to portray how life was before the first white settlement. I will not go into great detail and try and keep it as brief as possible to make it a more readable web site.

Lastly, the Ingleside fruit society will cover information on a society that moved to Ingleside in the early 1900's. Jacob Beilhart was the founder who studied and practiced nursing under Dr. John Harvey Kellogg in the Battle Creek Sanitarium. Jacob went on to be an associate with C. W. Post. Jacob and Post parted ways and Jacob made it out to Ingleside Illinois.
