The Lake Region News was a monthly newspaper printed in the summer by Victor G Witting c/o Fox Lake Vista, Spring Grove Illinois. It was delivered to local residents by James Boesch.

The news reported was of local interest. It told of the legion fireman carnival on Olson's property on Route 12 and Meade Court to help get extra equipment for the firemen. The National Tea store was to undergo interior decoration and the lovely Miss Kitty Strom who was Fox Lake's "Varga Girl" was employed as a clerk at the Fox Lake Pharmacy in Nippersink.

Personal Notes told of births and of the Fox Lake men who were stationed in the Pacific and Europe during WWII. Fox Lake was basically a summer residence and the paper was on printed in the summer with the last paper being the September issue. With summer coming to a close it listed the teachers for the New Year as

Grant High School teachers were: Mr. John Moore- Principal, Miss Mamye Rollins- Asst. Principal, Mr. John Christ, Mr. L. Orr, Mr. Clyde Hill, Mr. E. Rich, Mrs. L. Kubberup, Miss V. Morse, Mr. John Hodge, Miss Irene De Lacy, Miss Krause and Mr. Dan Werhan who had just returned from after serving two years in the navy.
















ABOVE are some of the ads and other pages I thought were interesting from this paper. One page told people who visited Fox Lake to visit Bobby and Johnny�s service station next to Wagon Wheel Tavern to get directions where people lived.
