State Conservation Training Camp: Located on route 59, midway between Fox Lake and Antioch are 27 acres of beautiful grounds and buildings. Here, leaders from all over the nation are taught the art of conservation. The zoo, a live collection of native game birds and animals, is open to the public. There you will find planting demonstrations for training purposes, and classes of instruction during the summer months.
Lotus Beds: Here in the Fox Lake region are the famous beautiful flowering Lotus beds. The Egyptian Lotus, the giant water lily, famed down through the ages of legend and song. These are the largest beds in the U.S. Endless beauty for the camera enthusiast or artist, it is a thing of beauty long to be remembered. Well equipped excursion boats are in operation that will take you into the very heart of these beautiful lotus beds.
Boating: Boating is on the increase as one of the Chain of Lakes pleasures. Whether you just like to exercise at rowing, to putt-putt or hum over the waters in a outboard, or zip along in an inboard power boat, this area offers you all of it.
